We know that your child’s first visit to the dentist can be overwhelming. You can calm any fears by letting your child know that we will begin their treatment by taking x-rays of their teeth, looking over their teeth and jaws, and cleaning the teeth and gums to keep their smile clean and healthy. Try to avoid negative words such as “shot” or “hurt.” Using non-threatening language leading up to your child’s visit can reduce unnecessary worrying.

We invite you to accompany your child in the examination and treatment area.  We realize that you know your children best and ask that you use your best judgement as to whether your child will do better with you present or waiting for them in our waiting room.  When you accompany them to the examination or treatment area we ask that you take on the role of observer and supporter.  Everything will be explained in language and terminology that is age appropriate and your child will be given every opportunity to ask questions.

As a new patient, we ask that you arrive 15 minutes early to complete the necessary paperwork. If you need to cancel, please notify our office 24 hours in advance if possible.

We can’t wait to meet you and welcome you to the Aubrey Pediatric Dentistry family!
